Sweet Sleep

Found this Ben Lee CD cover and it just seemed to fit my current work schedule...

I've also been pondering this scripture:

In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves. ~ Psalm 127:2 (NIV)

Not sure how it relates, but I do know He loves me, even if I'm not getting as much sleep as I normally do.

I think it relates, perhaps obliquely, to Is.28:16 (also talking about construction & sleep together) "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste." What does having a foundation have to do with how busy your schedule is? I think it has to do with the peace that you carry inside of yourself. So even though you may be running late for this appointment or that one, your spirit does not have to be hurried. See? Your life may be hectic but you're not running to keep from falling off the treadmill--you're standing on the cornerstone. And only person who is confident in thier foundation and Provider (as in the Psalms passage whose hero is not under pressure to provide more than he is humanly able) is capable of sleeping soundly.
