Haunting Haiku

A snaggletooth grin,
My pumpkin glows in the dark,
Waiting to welcome goblins

Leaves crunch underfoot
Children run helter skelter
Don’t spill your candy

Bowl piled high with sweets
Giggles, flurry of footsteps
Bell rings – trick or treat

Black cats, witches brew,
Mummies, pirates, vampires, too
Who’s there? Oh, it’s you

Night of mystery
Hiding behind a dark mask
I am someone else
